Since moving to Withernsea, Dean has walked on the beach every day. As he walks, he looks out for interesting pebbles, pieces of sea glass and other interesting items. He posts images of his finds on Twitter (usually under the title Pebble of the Day) and they've become very popular.

In 2021, the lighthouse at Withernsea held an exhibition of Dean's pebbles and beach finds alongside the textile replicas created by artist Karen Turner. It proved the most popular exhibition the lighthouse had ever hosted.
